« Becoming a Breastfeeding Educator »

I got a partial scholarship to Birth Arts International for my Breastfeeding Educators Certificate!

I'm so excited, for a few reasons. One, that they offer a partial scholarship to passionate people who need financial assistance to help other women & babies, and two, this is an area I feel I need more education in. I have taken a few classes, read tons of books, but feel I need to know the ins and outs to be able to support women in that crucial first 48 hours, and beyond. I look forward to teaching, and helping instead of just referring women elsewhere.

This is such an exciting time for me. I'm just thrilled I've been given this opportunity. This is such a gift to me, both as knowledge and to those I'll be supporting. I really cannot think of a better gift for a new baby.

Just another step in my self motivated learning path. Training in your passions, really can it get any better?

Enjoy! I volunteer as a breastfeeding support person, and I have to say that there are few feelings I enjoy as much as knowing I've helped a mama and baby get off to a good start. It's amazing. :)

Honestly, had it not been for you, the midwives and an extremely supportive husband, and lack of income, I'm not sure where I would be. You helped me so much, knowing that I could turn to you and your emotional support. You will be so amazing an being an educator, wishing you all the best!
